How to choose a mouse pad

Two decisions, in this order: size, then surface. Everything else is taste.

Size follows your sensitivity, not your desk

This is the most common buying mistake. Pad size comes from how wide a movement you make to turn your character 180 degrees — and that depends on your DPI and in-game sensitivity.

• Playing at high DPI, turning with the wrist, movement contained within a hand's width? A medium pad of roughly 36 × 30 cm is enough.
• Playing at low DPI, turning with the whole forearm and lifting the mouse to reset? You want a large format (around 50 × 42 cm) or XXL.
• Want the keyboard and mouse on one surface and a desk that looks coherent? That is the job of the XXL pads around 90 cm long, which work as desk mats.

A simple test: play for an hour and see whether the mouse runs off the edge. If it does, your next pad should be bigger.

Surface: speed or control

LORGAR names the surface type explicitly in the specification and uses three terms:

• High-speed — smooth, low-resistance fibres. The mouse accelerates and carries. A good choice if you change targets often and make quick, short movements.
• Control — thermoplastic fibres offering more resistance. The mouse is harder to get moving, but also harder to overshoot: the surface brakes at the end of a movement. Chosen where stopping on a point matters more than the glide.
• Ultra-glide — a special weave giving the lowest resistance in the range.

Neither is better; they are different ways of moving a mouse. If you find yourself overshooting, try control. If the mouse feels like it sticks and your forearm tires, try a faster surface.

Material

LORGAR states the material directly and maps it onto the surface type: Multispandex on the fast surfaces, Jacquard on the control ones, Nylon on the ultra-glide. Every LORGAR pad is cloth — there are no hard pads and no hybrids in the range. Worth knowing before you buy: if you want a rigid, glass or plastic surface, this is not the brand to keep browsing.

Thickness, edge and base

Thickness is fixed at 3 mm. There is no thicker or thinner version. It is a sensible middle — enough to even out small irregularities in the desk, not enough to lift your wrist. If you are after a 4–5 mm pad for wrist relief, this range does not have one.

The edge comes two ways: stitched (including double-stitched in a contrasting thread) and trimmed smooth. Stitching protects the edge from fraying and usually decides whether the pad survives two years. A trimmed edge, in turn, is flat, so your forearm does not feel it.

The base is the same on every model: anti-slip rubber with an embossed logo. The pad does not travel across the desk even under a sharp movement.

Lighting and water resistance

Only part of the range has RGB — those models connect by a USB cable and are controlled from the LORGAR PLATFORM app, synchronising colours with the rest of your LORGAR devices. The remaining pads are passive and need nothing.

A water-resistant coating is declared on selected lines — if you drink at your desk, look for that in the model description. Not every pad has it.

Frequently asked questions

What size pad should I choose?

Match it to your sensitivity, not to your desk. High DPI and wrist movement — medium is enough. Low DPI and forearm turns — large or XXL. If the mouse runs off the edge mid-game, you need bigger.

What is the difference between "high-speed" and "control" surfaces?

A fast surface has low resistance, so the mouse carries after a push. A control surface resists more and helps you stop on a point. If you overshoot, take control. If your forearm tires, take speed.

Can I get a pad thicker than 3 mm?

No. Every LORGAR pad is 3 mm thick. There are also no hard or hybrid pads in the range — all of them are cloth.

Will the pad slide across my desk?

It should not. Every model has an anti-slip rubber base with an embossed logo.

Will the edge fray?

Models with a stitched edge, including double-stitched, have it for exactly that reason. Models with a smooth trimmed edge prioritise forearm comfort instead. Which one a model has is in the Parametry tab.

Which pad has RGB, and does it need connecting?

Part of the range has lighting; those models connect by USB cable and are configured in the LORGAR PLATFORM app, synchronising colours with the rest of your LORGAR devices. The other pads need no connection.

Will the pad work with any mouse sensor?

LORGAR states on every pad that it is optimised for all mouse sensitivities and sensors.

How do I clean the pad — can I wash it?

LORGAR does not publish washing or cleaning instructions for its pads, so we will not supply a method on the manufacturer's behalf. Before washing, write to info@lorgar.pl and we will tell you what is safe for that particular model.

What is the warranty, and can I return a pad?

24 months of manufacturer's warranty verified by serial number, separately 2 years of liability for the goods' conformity with the contract, and 14 days from receiving the parcel to return without giving a reason — details in Complaints and returns, payment methods in the Shop regulations.
